Baptism
Those wishing to have their child baptized
should visit the parish office to pick up a Baptism Package. Parents
must be registered members of the parish. Baptisms are celebrated on the
last Sunday of the month, except for Lent or December.
First Communion and First
Reconciliation
The Sacraments are central to our faith. They are
outward signs, instituted by Christ, to receive God's
Grace. They are meant to be celebrated and shared
with ones family, not class. Everyone who goes to
church on a regular basis and practices their faith
should receive the Sacraments. Last year there were
some difficulties with people who did not belong to this
church wishing to receive their First Communion and/or
Confirmation here with their classmates; thereby not
leaving enough room for the people who belong to this
parish. Therefore, for those who wish their child to
receive their First Communion or be Confirmed in the
2010-2011 school year the following order of
Preference will be followed:
1)Families registered and regularly attending Sunday
Mass at Our Lady of Lourdes will be given first choice.
(Please note: You must be registered with the church
at least 6 months before you can receive a sacrament.)
2)Students who belong to either Our Lady of Lourdes
School or Mother Teresa School but are registered in
and attend another parish will be allowed to receive
their Sacraments here at Our Lady of Lourdes Church,
as long as they provide a Pastors Letter of Permission
form signed by their own Pastor.
3)Youth belonging to other faiths who wish to come for
a blessing are more than welcome to participate
provided there is space.
Our Lady of Lourdes Church registration forms can be
picked up from the Parish Office or in the Narthex of
the church.
A reminder will be in the bulletin in
September advising parents of the parent meetings
regarding both First Communion and Confirmation.
Registration forms for the Sacraments will be handed
out at the parent meeting, not before.

Catholic Funeral Rites
